Congratulations to Ms GB Classic!

Well, she only went and did it! Congratulations to Gina Broadhurst of Just Shutters in Walton, who has been successful in her bid to become Ms GB Classic.

She also scooped the Best Publicity award and the Best Interview award. Gina had been publi-cising her entry in advance of the gala night, by supporting two causes: Cancer Research and Alex’s Wish. Her fund-raising campaign saw her taking on a 418ft abseil and walking 100 miles in a month.

Since the win at the end of October she has been rushed off her feet. “It’s like a full-time job” she says. She has done live TV, radio in-terviews, and is now on the speaker circuit. Engagements have recently included a talk to the local scout group. When I asked the rele-vance, she explained “I talk to them about self-confidence and overcoming obstacles with a positive mindset. My lesson to anyone is not to be afraid to fail”. It is incredible how a beauty pageant win can bring such important life les-sons to anyone. Just do it…as the advert says!

Applications are now open for 2024. There are Miss and Ms Surrey awards, a win which will then lead on to the national final. Ms GB Clas-sic is a direct entry on the website, without initial heats. Entries in 2023 saw ladies up to the age of 81. So never say never! Enter now www.missgreatbritainofficial.co.uk
