Support my Dad’s cancer treatment

Martin Green is a friendly, family man who spent 30 years serving in the London Fire Brigade. In April 2018 he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Prostate cancer and has been battling the disease ever since. Treatment has involved rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy as well as three hormone replacement therapies and two clinical trial drugs.

An adverse reaction to previous chemotherapy has now limited his options and he is on morphine to control the pain he is in. He has one last chance.

Since his diagnosis Martin has campaigned to support firefighters and raise awareness of prostate cancer. He has started petitions to raise awareness for firefighters with occupational illness, campaigned for blood tests at the local rugby club (London Irish RFC), gone to parlia-ment and appeared on ITV news to talk about how our heroes now need our help. This man has spent his life putting blood, sweat and tears into bettering other people’s lives. But he needs your help now.

The family has been offered a lifeline in the form of a molecular therapy called Radionuclide (Lutetium-177). It is an unlicensed therapy in the UK but after much testing it received FDA approval last year. It has been shown to significantly improve prostate cancer survival rates. But it is not cheap! It will cost around £85,000 and son Evan is doing everything in his power to raise the money. He and a friend are doing a triathlon at the start of November and there are plans for a skydive next year. All proceeds will go towards the cost of treatment. So far Evan’s campaign has raised over £30,000.

His campaign is being run on www.gofundme.com.. Just search My Dads Cancer Treatment.
