My current work is inspired by the faded grandeur of ancient buildings. The layers of peeling paint, fractured walls, and colour recall a time and beauty that once was, when beautiful paintings graced the walls of church-es, and domestic dwellings. My contemporary interpretation of these frescoes is revealed in paintings which are distressed, suggesting another time, another place. Hints of Gold and Bronze appear among the earth colours. I work energetically trying to recall a memory or feeling, which I hope on viewing will evoke a similar response. My paintings are beautifully presented in hand made and hand finished frames.
