Spelthorne Opens Business Hub

By Monica Chard

It has been a long time coming, but finally, the Incubator Hub, to support Spelthorne small businesses and entrepreneurs, has been officially opened. The slogan is Dream it. Do it. It opens the opportunity to new business owners to follow their dreams of running their own business, but offers the support of a hub of like minded businesses and all the support that goes with it.

The Incubator Hub is based in a building on Hanworth Road, directly opposite Costco. Take the service road just before the BT building and follow the road next to the A316 towards Hanworth. A colourful building will draw your eye and there is plenty of parking.

Inside, the layout is reminiscent of corporate days, with rows of desks and individual offic-es partitioned off. There is a large training room. Deals for entrepreneurs range from only £99 per month, getting you business ad-dress, a hot desk, use of meeting rooms, super fast broadband and most importantly the sup-port of Aamar Hussain, who runs the hub under his business name CoTribe. Amar runs similar hubs in Horley and Redhill, so has bundles of experience to share. He states “We help drive Innovation and Economic prosperi-ty through the creation of Innovation and Co working hubs helping Start ups flourish”.

Incredibly, Spelthorne saw a net increase of over 300 businesses in 2020. The year the pandemic hit and many businesses fell by the wayside, Spelthorne saw an incredible surge. Many of us sat at home and started turning this dreadful situation to our advantage. We started seeing that working life could be dif-ferent. Many decided to follow their dreams and work out a business plan. But working alone has its challenges. It can be isolating and depressing. So the chance to be with other business people, many of them new starters, and share experiences, solve problems and thrive is a fantastic opportunity.

We heard from Nazanin Nankali who started her own business under the Powertutors brand, based out of the Redhill hub. Her tutor-ing agency soon grew, with Aamar’s encour-agement, and she now employs 4 members of staff.

The desire in the Spelthorne Incubator Hub is to create a community of entrepreneurs, a place which will grow talent and fortune for the borough’s ambitious new small business owners. If you think this might be of interest, you can try it for a day free of charge and commitment. So what are you waiting for?
