The Burlington Launches Dementia Friendly Cinema Club

What a great initiative. The Burlington’s Dementia Friendly Cinema Club was launched in October and will continue on the first Friday of each month from 14.30 to 16.30.

This initiative promises to bring joy and foster connections among individuals living with dementia and their families.

The Dementia Friendly Cinema Club will screen timeless classics and heartwarming films that evoke familiar places and emotions. It offers a chance to enjoy laughter, shed a tear, and share stories with fellow attendees, fostering meaningful connections. The sensory immersion in the world of cinema will provide a therapeutic and enjoyable experience. Above all, The Burling-ton’s Dementia Friendly Cinema Club is about attendees coming together, breaking the chains of isolation, and building a sense of community. Kirsty Ford, Admissions Manager at The Burlington, reflects on the launch and its potential impact, stating, “The launch of The Burlington’s Dementia Friendly Cinema Club marks a sig-nificant step towards enriching the lives of individuals living with dementia. This initiative has the power to create a positive and lasting impact, fostering a sense of togetherness, kindling cherished memories, and offering a meaningful way for our community to connect and support one another”.
