The Spelthorne Orchestra will be back to hold a fundraising concert at St Nicholas church, Shepperton at 4pm on 18th November when they will be performing their Eastern Promise concert of music from around the world. Tickets £10 adults and free for under 18s.
This follows the successful concert at St Saviour’s in Sunbury (pictured above) in October when over £650 was raised for the various projects carried out by the church, including their work running the local foodbank.
The orchestra was previously known as the Ashford Orchestra and they meet at the Parish Centre, St Nicholas Church, Shepperton each Tuesday during term time between 7.30 and 9.00. The orchestra is always on the look out for any local musicians who play string instruments. Just pop along or see the orchestra’s Facebook page for details.
The orchestra is conducted by local Shepperton resident and retired music teacher, David Bruce, who has led school choir and music groups in Spelthorne and Runnymede for over 40 years.
