News from Shepperton Library

We are running two ongoing summer schemes for children over the summer. The first is The Summer Reading Challenge, closing September 17th. The aim is to encourage children to read at least 6 books over the summer. They get little prizes for each book they read and after the 6th, they get a certificate. The second is our Cultural Passport where children complete challenges; going to a museum or drawing their own library card. For every challenge they complete, they get a sticker and if they complete 10 challenges, they can enter into a prize draw. This runs until October 29th. The free weekly drop in Rhymetime session at the library is every Tuesday at 11am. Our fortnightly coffee mornings, run in partnership with Shepperton and Sunbury Rotary this month will be on 1, 15 and 29 September 10.30 – 12.30pm. Come and get homemade coffee and a slice of cake for £2. Our library reading group runs every last Friday of the month. If you are interested in joining, please talk to a member of staff at the front desk Maureen Attewell runs a monthly council surgery in the library on the first Saturday of every month between 1.45 – 3.45pm. You don’t need to book, just turn up! Did you know it is free to join the library? All you need is something with your name and ad-dress on it to join! We don’t just lend out books, we do so much more! We hold lots of events, have a Foodbank donation point, offer free Binti sanitary products, have free PC use, Wi-Fi, printing and photo-copying facilities, as well as a beautiful garden.
