Over the last month at Shepperton library, we have started getting steadier influxes of new books to choose from which is breathing new life into our stock. We have also restarted recirculating our large print and audio books, so we are having fresh stock coming in frequently.
We are still looking for volunteers to host a new Friday morning Rhymetime, be Digital Buddied, general event co-ordinators and we are still looking for a couple of people to host our Friends of Shep-perton coffee mornings! If you are interested in joining our team of volunteers, then please fill out an expression of interest form via the Surrey Li-braries website or drop into the library for more information.
Between the 4 – 18 April, we will be selling drop in ‘Do it Yourself’ Easter themed craft packs for £1. You are welcome to do them in the library or take them home with you!
Due to the government rule changes about Covid, we no longer need to restrict the number of people that attend our Rhymetime session we run on a Tuesday at 11am. There is now no need to book, just turn up!

Our library reading group runs every last Friday of the month 2.30 – 3.30pm. If you would be interest-ed in joining, please enquire at the desk.

At neighboring Chertsey library, Surrey Fire and Rescue will be visiting our weekly coffee morning (which runs Friday’s 10 – 12pm at the library – you get coffee and a homemade slice of cake for only £1!) on 15 April. This visit will be more catered towards young children. There will be activity packs that they will be able to do and even be able to go on the fire engine! (permitting they don’t need to go off to an emergency of course!)
On 5 April, Chertsey library will be teaming up with some of our local partners to deliver a fun day of free activities!
The day’s programme will be as follows:
The morning will be catered for children
10.30 – Rhymetime (no need to book, just turn up!)
11 – Riverbourne Health Club will host games for children on the green outside the library
11.30 – 12.30 Runnymede Council will conduct a free drop-in craft event for 1 hour
12.30 – Competition winner announcement (please see below for details)
The afternoon will be catered for teenagers
Voluntary Services will have a table set up to give advice to those that wish to find out more about local volunteering opportunities for their Duke of Edinburgh award. They will be here all afternoon.
2.30 – Garden games will be set up that people can play in the library
3 – Riverbourne Health Club will hold a competi-tion for two lucky teenagers to win a 5-day gym pass! This will be held in the green around the library
3.30 – 4.30 Free drop-in Sensory craft session (Dementia Awareness) conducted by Home Instead

Does your child love to draw? Are they between the ages of 3 – 8? If yes then would they like to enter our Easter themed library competition for a chance to win a free family pass to Riverbourne Health Club? The competition has two categories; 3 – 5 years and 6 – 8 years and is running from Saturday 20 March – 3 April. Get your child to draw a picture of what they like best about Easter and send it to us at Chert-sey.library@surreycc.gov.uk. The two winners will be announced at the library at 12.30pm!
