Local artist Peggy Pickering was delighted when the painting of poppies at the Tower of London, which she had donated, was auctioned at the Royal British Legion in Sunbury bids started at £200 and in the end it raised £560 which will go to the poppy appeal. How lovely to take the trouble of suggesting the donation and auction and what a result!
