Mind.Full Education

Nicola and Sam have been working together for a year to introduce this much needed pro-vision to the local and surrounding communi-ties. In December 2021, Sam answered Nico-la’s phone call, to help support her daughter with the trauma of cyber bullying. It was when they started to discuss their families and the love for their jobs that they realised the demand and need for more emotional and learning support within the community. ‘Mind.Full’ was born!

Having worked as specialist teachers in schools for over a decade and encouraged by the universally positive responses to our indi-vidual practices from SENCOs, Head Teach-ers and parents, we realised the need to col-laborate and set up a centre offering both spe-cialist education for Specific Learning Diffi-culties and holistic approaches to Mental Health. In fact, it’s not often that two profes-sionals with such skills have the opportunity to come together and offer something so vital to a commu-nity!

As many parents will know, the vast majority of schools do not have the capacity or specialist knowledge to identify and put appropriate programmes in place for those students who may need the help we can offer.

Together, we have a vision. We want to run a centre which will enable us to address neuro-diverse difficulties such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, ASD and other specific educa-tional needs, integrating this with Mindfulness training, techniques for reducing anxiety and improving wellbeing and emotional responses. We will work with children and young people in small groups, giving them the chance to get to know each other and support each other on their respective jour-neys. We believe, and our experience to date already proves, that our specialist intervention coupled with our calm, positive and encourag-ing approach makes a huge difference to our young people, most of whom have struggled for too long. The practical difference this bring to their lives, and to their families and often to their teachers, can completely trans-form a child, turning a withdrawn young per-son into a well-rounded, confident member of society, ready to approach the challenges of adolescence and adulthood.

We will be opening on Friday mornings from January 2022.

Please do drop us an email if you would like to know more!
