Views from The Burlington

The last few months have been different to any other time in our lives, a challenging time of loss for some and financial challenges for others – a time to reflect on our lives.

During this turbulent time, relationships can either become strained and grow apart or be-come even stronger. Fortunately at The Bur-lington, the strong bond between the team, family and the community has gone from strength to strength.

Team Burlington rose to the challenge of Covid 19 and continue to work together to provide safety, compassionate care, comfort and companionship which are essential to the wellbeing of our residents.

Unwavering commitment, teamwork and pas-sion have helped us to get through the chal-lenges faced so far and will continue to get us through what is yet to come.

We have embraced technology – our team have assisted residents, families and friends to facilitate countless digital calls. All have en-joyed staying connected via Skype, Facetime, Zoom or WhatsApp. We have all definitely upskilled on the technology front!

Residents at The Burlington Care Home have been busy enjoying life in a variety of activi-ties and as always living life to the full. We are fortunate to have the space to manage activities safely within the home and our resi-dents have enjoyed a variety of activities from keep fit classes, through to baking, playing games, not to mention our wonderful summer BBQ in our courtyard garden. We have defi-nitely made the most of the sunshine, enjoy-ing many celebrations outside, gardening and nature spotting and simply enjoying a cuppa and freshly baked delicious cake al fresco!

We are honoured to live in such a close knit and caring community and have received thoughtful and generous donations and mes-sages from the community and are extremely grateful that they are thinking of our residents and staff, lifting our spirits and making us smile.

Recently families have been reunited with their loved ones as we were delighted to facil-itate and welcome families back, on a pre-arranged appointment basis, ensuring safety and peace of mind for all involved. We con-tinue to monitor the guidelines of Public Health England and the Care Quality Com-mission to ensure we adapt gradually and safely as the situation with the pandemic evolves.

One thing is certain, we all hope for a brighter future. As Maya Angelou once said, “Try to be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.” We at The Burlington, are here to help. Call Lesley, our Admissions Manager now on 01483 930092 to discuss your loved one’s care needs. We are here to help.
