Princess Alice Preloved Wedding Show

Imagine as a mother being able to pass on your wedding dress to your daughter. Now imagine that you lose that child to cancer. It is too horrific to imagine. The dress in question is going to be the star of a wedding show coming to Shepperton Studios in September. What better than to donate it to help raise much needed funds to support those who are cared for at the end of their life in the hospice.

You have hopefully discovered by now that the Princess Alice shop in Shepperton has been designated the destination for all things prom and bridal. Upstairs there is a little haven of delights. Racks of satin, silk and frills. As well as Prom dresses and wedding gowns, there are hats, accessories, veils and outfits for the mother of the bride. Quality items are priced to sell, with labels from as little as £50 up to around £200.

On September 21st you have the chance to attend a wedding fashion catwalk with a difference and whilst doing so, contribute to the ongoing work of this amazing charity. All the garments being shown are preloved and looking for a new outing. Shepperton’s Princess Alice Hospice shop manager Linda showed me proudly some of the stunning dresses which will be on display.

The Shepperton branch of PAH has been the hub for all wedding dresses and accessories which have been donated across the Surrey network. She held up one stunning garment for me to see. It was brand new and had a price tag of £1400 but it could be yours for only £250! A wedding is such an expensive event so if you could save some of the money you would spend on a dress at the same time as supporting a great cause, isn’t that a great way forward?

It may be that you find the dress of your dreams but it needs a bit of adjusting or perhaps a little repair. Help is at hand. A local seamstress can help with any adjustments needed. The shop really has thought of everything. Contact the shop for full information.
