Councillor Christine Elmer, Portfolio Holder for Corporate and Community Development said:

“Our high streets and businesses are the life blood of our town and village centres. We will continue to do all we can to back them through this difficult time. We have distributed millions of pounds in grant funding but want to do more to help our businesses adapt and survive. Independent high street businesses can get help to sell online, implement social distancing measures – for example additional signage or a flexi-plastic protective screen round the till to protect staff and customers – and get the right advice and support to get through this incredibly difficult time.”
