Sunbury and Shepperton Arts Association present ‘A Little Arts Festival 2016’

There will be a varied programme during the festival as usual, but this year the SSAA will be presenting a mini festival from July 21st-24th. There will be something for everyone for sure, celebrating art through music, art, cooking and literature. Events will take place at the Riverside Arts Centre apart from the first two mentioned here.

If you have always wanted to visit Shepperton Studios, this very popular event will be on Thursday July 21st. There will be a talk about the history of the studios from 11am – 12noon. 50-places available. From 1pm-2pm there are 20 places for a tour of the studios. Tickets : £ 10 tour and or £8 for the talk only. Complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits with all bookings. Tickets for both will go fast to please book early.

We are delighted that Francesco from Little Italy will be sharing some of the ‘Secrets of Italian Cooking’ at the restaurant itself; 71 Thames Street TW16 6AD. Come and let Francesco teach you how to cook a delicious Italian speciality dish then stay on and enjoy eating it! Thursday July 21st at 5pm – Tickets : £16 (20 places only)

“Turner and Turnips” is the name of the talk on Thursday July 21 at 8pm with Dr Laurance Shafe, author, Tate guide and lecturer for the Workers Education Association. The illustrated art lecture covers the politics of early 19th century landscape. Tickets : £10

Sunbury Working Artists will be exhibiting and selling their work on 21st-23rd July between 11am and 4pm and on Sunday 24th between 10am and 12noon at the Riverside Arts Centre, 59 Thames Street, Sunbury on Thames TW16 5QF. Admission free.

On Friday 22nd July at 8pm Cantanti Camerati of Richmond with conductor Stephen Gregson will give a choral concert of music old and new from madrigals to show music. Tickets : £10

We have not forgotten the children! On Saturday July 23rd 10am to 12.30pm Kathryn Hocking (a RAD qualified teacher) will lead a fun morning for children aged between 5 and 11 years to include movement and mime, face painting, a drawing competition with prizes and readings by James Ford-Bannisterford (20 places only). Teas and coffees will be available for waiting parents. Ttickets : £12.50 to include healthy snacks and drinks

The weekend will see two wonderful musical offerings. Saturday July 23rd at 8pm a jazz concert with the Georgia Mancio Quartet featuring vocals by Georgia Mancio and Nikki Illes on piano. The RAC bar will be open. Tickets :£ 12.50. Then on Sunday July 24th at 2.30pm there will be a piano recital by James Kirby. The programme includes music by Mozart, Debussy, Liszt and Beethoven. Tickets (to include cream tea after the recital) £12.50
